Tribal Festival Kiphire under the theme ‘Igniting Cultural Traditions’ organised by District Art and Cultural Office, Kiphire at Loyola Higher secondary Conference Hall was graced by D Robin, NCS, ADC, Kiphire as the special guest.

Speaking at the festival, D Robin expressed gratitude to the department for organising such cultural event where younger generation can learn and appreciate ones art and culture through active participation. “Today, influence of modern and western culture has affects on our culture identity and practices,” Robin highlighted while urging upon the students to understand the importance of culture passed on to us from generations.

In a brief elucidation, P Yongwe Wumnok, DCO, Kiphire said the idea behind is to learn and appreciate culture through art, dance, music and language. The tribal culture event began with the announcement of traditional blessing by Throngseli Sangtam Hd. GB Kiphire town.

The programme was chaired by Vilila S Thonger ARO, Kiphire. Meanwhile, participants from Agape School, Zisiji Presidency College and various other group presented folk dance and songs.
