Tribal Hostel at Govt Polytechnic Sedem inaugurated

Tuensang, November 28 (MExN): Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba, inaugurated the tribal hostel at Government Polytechnic Sedem in Tuensang village on November 28.

Addressing the inaugural function, Advisor Temjenmenba expressed his appreciation for the generosity of P/Khel Tuensang village for donating land for the establishment of institutions like the Polytechnic Sedem in Tuensang. According to a DIPR report, he emphasised the importance of the Polytechnic in becoming an inspiration by producing outstanding students academically. He urged the gathering to adopt an open mindset, encouraging students from other districts to join the institution.

The Advisor highlighted the efforts of the Department of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland in improving infrastructure, providing necessary equipment, and ensuring a qualified faculty in all Polytechnic Institutions across Nagaland.

 He announced plans to initiate skill development programs and introduce online teaching modes by bringing in experienced teaching faculties. Assuring his commitment, the Advisor pledged to address the challenges faced by Polytechnic Sedem before the start of the next academic session and the construction of a girl’s hostel in the next phase.

In a short speech, MLA Imtichuba expressed his joy, stating that the establishment of a tribal hostel at Polytechnic Sedem was like a dream come true for the people of Tuensang. He thanked the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for recognising and addressing the needs of the local community. Imtichuba acknowledged the sacrifices made by the faculty of Polytechnic Sedem despite facing challenges in basic facilities at the institution.

The programme was chaired by Er Vipulhou Lhoungu, Director Technical Education, invocation was said by Rev T Among, Pastor TSBL, welcome address by Er Among Longkumer, Principal Polytechnic Sedem. Speeches by Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, DC Tuensang; Sentiyanger Pongen, Add Secretary Higher and Technical Education, and vote of thanks by Tiakaba Amer, Additional Director, Technical Education.
