TSUD hails KU, NTUC’s stand on taxation

Dimapur, April 17 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur today has hailed the Konyak Union (KU) and Naga Tribal Union Chümoukedima (NTUC) decision reiterating their stand on  “One Government,One Tax and " No Unity,No Tax.”

Terming the decision ‘historic,’ the TSUD in a statement said that the unions' bold declaration is “dire need of the hour as we have many splinter groups and anti social activities by some so called individuals with vested interests.”

As equal shareholders to the Naga future, the students’ community looks forward towards the able leadership of both the Hohos and other apex bodies to follow suit in repairing the fragmented Naga society, it said.

While acknowledging the efforts and sacrifices of some committed leaders in the different Naga political groups, the TSUD said that mushrooming of different groups for “taxation under the guise of speaking for our rights” has bought untold miseries to the society.

“It is time for us to come together and a time to heal,” it stressed, adding that the cries and aspirations of the section Naga people is for unity.

“We appeal to all our leaders to come together leaving their differences aside for the future of the generations to come,” it added.
