TSUD questions government’s silence, extends support to DNSU

Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur (TSUD) on Wednesday extended support and solidarity to the Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) in closing down and checking of illegal flow of liquor in Nagaland and  the call for implementation Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989.

The TSUD also questioned the silence of the State Government in this matter.

It stated that while the NLTP Act 1989 has been formulated with “the most noblest of intentions, over the years it has brought us more harm than good, giving rise to  syndicate system with its tentacles in almost every sections of our society.” The union also said that widespread spurious liquor has brought untold ramifications.

It appealed to the government to use their best wisdom in tackling the ‘elephant in the room’.
