DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 7 (MExN): The Tangkhul Union Dimapur (TUD) in an emergency meeting held on December 6, has decided to postpone its proposed golden jubilee celebration which was scheduled for December 11and to restrain from organising any festivity during the 7 days mourning period. “The decision was taken as a mark of respect to those innocent victims who were brutally massacred by the Indian Army on December 4 and 5 at Oting village of Mon district,” a press release from the TUD said. It further appealed to all concerned to bear with the inconveniences due the postponement of the programme.
BASU postpones badminton tournament
The Open Amateur Men's and Veteran's Badminton Tournament, organised by Borlengri Ao Students Union (BASU), scheduled to be held from December 9 to 11, has been postponed in solidarity with the December 4 incident where 15 innocent civilians were mercilessly killed by Indian Security Forces. The tentative date for the said tournament has been scheduled for January 6 to 8, 2022, the organisers informed.
