Longleng, March 9 (MExN): Two persons were arrested by Longleng Police on March 8 for drug trafficking. The arrested were identified as P Moba Phom s/o Pangkong, resident of Yongam and Yohan s/o Lowang from Yongam, presently residing at Oushok, Longleng.
About 150 grams of brown sugar, concealed in a woofer speaker, estimated at Rs10 lakhs (approx) was recovered from their possession, Senior Superintendent of Police, Longleng informed ina press statement on Monday.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the consignment was brought by a lady to NST station in Dimapur, requesting it to be delivered to Longleng, where the owner will come to claim the parcel.
On suspicion of such transaction, the police party checked the consignment and found the drugs in 10 soap packets hidden in a woofer speaker. In this connection, a case was registered under NDPS Act and further investigation is on, the SP’s statement informed.
