The items seized by Excise Narcotic cell, Dimapur personnel on March 28.
Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The Excise Narcotic cell, Dimapur personnel in a tip off recovered a total of 450 cases of illegal IMFL and Beer from a truck bearing registration No. AS 01 CC 4206 on March 28. The vehicle was intercepted at Purana Bazar, Dimapur.
The contraband was concealed in the truck by several cartons of biscuits which was loaded in the outskirts of Guwahati, informed an update from the Deputy Commissioner of Excise (NC), S Chanlei Angh.
In this connection two accused persons were arrested and booked under relevant sections of NLTP Act 1989. They were identified as Kamrul Islam, (26) R/o Baruating P/S Howraghat, Assam and Kunal Shah, (20) R/o Mantri Pukhri, East Imphal, Manipur.
The seized articles are kept in the Excise Malkhana for future destruction by the competent Destruction Board, the update informed.
