Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and police personnel apprehended one cadre of NSCN (KN) with weapons and drugs in general area Model village, Tisephema on January 22.
“Based on special input,” a press release from UIGAR (N) stated that “troops of AR and police representative launched an operation and apprehended one NSCN (KN) and recovered one point 22 Rifle, one point 22 pistol, one Air Rifle, one Single Bore Rifle, 40 Nos of point 22mm live rds, 299 Nos of Air Rifle Pellets, 199 Nos of Spasma Proxivon capsules (approx Rs, 15,920), one packet of Drug Orange Powder (Sunflower) and 15 small containers (approx Rs 45,000) and Rs 1, 43,500 in cash.”
The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Police Station, Medziphema for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the security forces of Assam Rifles in another joint operation with police representative apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre in general area Purana Bazaar, Dimapur on January 22.
An update from the IGAR (N) stated that based on specific input, the AR personnel along with police launched an operation resulting in apprehension of one NSCN (IM) cadre and recovered one point 22 pistol, three rounds of point 22 ammunition, 2300 numbers of Spasma Proxivon Capsule (approximately worth Rs 43,200) and Rs 1,56,500 in cash.
“The apprehended person along with the recovered items has been handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation,” the IGAR (N) added.
