Udyam 2025 fair to empower NE entrepreneurs

Guwahati, October 27 (MExN): The 13th India Industrial Fair (IIF) – Udyam 2025, aimed at empowering local and women-led enterprises from the Northeast, will be held here from October 30 to November 2.

The four-day event, organised by Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), Purvottar Prant, will be inaugurated by Union Minister of State for MSME Shobha Karandlaje, an official said on Monday.

It is being held under the Chief Patronage of Assam Chief Minister and the Patronage of the state's Industries & Commerce Minister, Partha Pratim Pathak, President, LUB Purvottar Prant.

Pathak said the fair aims to become "one of the largest industrial platforms in Northeast India," featuring over 300 stalls from sectors like food processing, renewable energy, handloom, handicrafts, and green technologies.

"Our objective is to create opportunities for local entrepreneurs and MSMEs to connect with markets, investors, and buyers while showcasing Assam's growing industrial potential," he said.

Pramod Mour, General Secretary, LUB Purvottar Prant, highlighted a dedicated segment 'Sayamsiddha' to showcase women entrepreneurs from the region.

He further announced that LUB will sponsor free stalls for small-scale entrepreneurs associated with organisations like Kisan Sangh and Seva Bharati.

Ashish Deorah, National Joint General Secretary, LUB, said a series of seminars on topics like AI, semiconductors, and pollution control will be held to benefit young start-ups and students.

The fair is expected to attract over 50,000 visitors and will be held at the Veterinary College Ground in Khanapara.
