Jakhama, August 5 (MExN): A UGC team is on a visit to St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama with regard to the latter’s Autonomous status. An official welcome programme was held in the morning on August 5 at the college conference hall.
A press release from the college informed that the team comprises of Prof. AP Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University as Chairperson, Prof. Ashok Sharma, School of Chemical Sciences, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya and Dr. Swami Kamalasthananda, Principal, Ramakhrishna Mission Vivekananda as members.
Kuholi Chishi, Director, Higher Education, Government of Nagaland represented as State nominee, Prof. SK Chaturvedi, Department of Botany, Dean, RDC, NU as University nominee and PN Gupta, Section Officer, University Grants Commission, New Delhi as Coordinating Officer.
On day one, the principal and various departments of the college gave presentations, besides Coordinator of IQAC, Rev. Fr. George Anthony and Library in-charge, Fr. Dr. Joy Thomas SVD. There was also special presentation from sports faculty and alumni association.
The UGC team also had interaction with the teaching faculty members.
According to the release, there will be another hectic day on August 6 as the members of the visiting team will have more interactions with the students’ body, non-teaching staff and visits to the various departments and various facilities in the college, including campus hostels.
