UGC invites application for scholarship

Kohima, November 24 (MExN): University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Government of India has invited online applications for scholarships.

The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) was opened on 18.8.2021 for receiving application under the following four schemes for the Academic Year 2021-2022 like (1) Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child (SGC); (2) PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate (URH); (3) Ishan Uday Special scheme for North Eastern Region (NER); (4) PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ ST candidates (PGSPROF). 

The guidelines for each scheme may be accessed at NSP. The eligible students may submit their applications through NSP on its website- https: // scholarships.gov.in/

Closing date for filling online applications is November 30 and closing date for verification of applications by Institutions of students including re-submission of defective applications is December 15. 

The students have been advised to submit their online applications well in time so that their institutions would able to verify applications within the prescribed timelines.

According to the notification issued by Secretary of UGC, Prof Rajnish Jain, the eligible institutions are directed to verify applications on their students immediately after receiving the applications on Portal. It would be in the interest of students, if all the applications were verified by Institutions by December 10, so that they would able to correct/rectify the defected applications.
