Mokokchung, November 24 (MExN): The Land Owners’ Board (Ungma, Mokokchung, Khensa) on Wednesday stated that it had resolved not to allow the conduct of Urban Local Body (ULB) elections within its jurisdiction unless the State Assembly makes rectification/amendments with regard to Lands and Building Tax of the Nagaland Municipal Act.
Stating that it seeks to safeguard the rights of the Naga people protected under Article 371(A) of the Indian Constitution, the board Chairperson Imtisüngkum and Secretary Imlikumzuk also said that it does not accept the Government of Nagaland, Municipal Affairs Department’s November 18 notification.
