
KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 15 (MExN): Employees of the Department of Rural Development (DRDA) have called for a total shutdown of the DRDA office Kohima with effect from November 16 to protest against nonpayment of salaries. A press release from the aggrieved employees informed that they have not been receiving salaries and wages since February 2021. “The matter has been communicated to the higher authority umpteen times in the form of appraisal and representation,” they informed, however adding that the response from the department has been “negative.” The employees stated that they would continue their agitation until all pending salaries and wages are cleared in full.
