Dimapur, August 30 (MExN): The Department of Health & Family Welfare inaugurated a new building for Urban Sub-Centre at Midland Dimapur on August 27.
Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, Dr. Sukhato A. Sema while congratulating the Department thanked the staff and the health committee members of the sub-centre for their untiring efforts in constructing the new building. He was optimistic that, it would deliver better healthcare services to the needy ones who come for treatment. While saying this, he appealed to the concerned people in the area for cooperation in implementing various government schemes in public health care system as the sub centre belong to the people. He also urged the Staff who were manning the sub-centre to rendered untiring services to the people and to provide hundred percent (100%) Immunization programme for children from 0-5 years of age for polio free society and also to immunized children from 1-2 years of age to control Japanese Encephalitis. Besides providing free testing and treatment, the CMO also urged them to create congenial atmosphere so that the patient can come and share their problem.
Deputy CMO, Dr. Ritu Thurr while delivering the exhortation speech said that there are two types of services the department of Health & Family Welfare provides to the people, rendering treatment to the sick people and control and prevent diseases, he was optimistic that this sub- centre would delivered the services required by all section of the society. He also urged the staff to provide compulsory immunization to all children and better healthcare be delivered to the womanhood and also to assist the department in implementing its policy for providing better health care system to benefit the people of the State.
The present building is being constructed with an amount of Rs. 555000, the Midland Council Members contributed Rs. 68500 and Medical Department contributed Rs. 87000. The Town Dispensary was established in 1969 and was communitized on October 15, 2003 and the present strength of staff is 10. The Town Sub-Centre is being created for urban area covering 24 colonies and 9 DMC wards.
