‘Users Collective’ formed for drug users

Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): The ‘Users Collective’ held its general meeting on October 24, 2010 at Town Hall, Dimapur. Formation, nomenclature, selection of interim body members and work plans were discussed in the meeting.

A press release received here informed that ‘Users collective’ is formed in the common interest of drug users with no bar (current user or recovering). Through this collective, a formal platform is formed where voices and issues of drug user will be formulated and can be heard. It also aims to create opportunities for an individual and through collective development, and also looking forward to function in a more structured way.

The house resolved to name the body as ‘Users Collective’ and consented to have 1(one) convener and 6(six) steering committee member for interim body and consented to continue with area representatives (ARs) as before and also to appoint new area representative (ARs) where there is vacant, one time membership fee of ` 10 and above was consented by house. Also 7(seven) interim body members were selected including the convener. Altogether 32 Area representatives were selected including previous ARs and registration of members will be done area wise through area representatives (ARs).

The release also informed the next meeting of Users Collective interim body members and area representatives (ARs) will be held on November 14, 2010.
