USLB ultimatum to ENPO over Pungro

Dimapur, August 1 (MExN): The United Sangtam Likhum Bumji (USLB) has issued an ultimatum to the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) over the controversy surrounding the holding of Road Show to be held at Pungro. A letter to the ENPO issued by USLB Vice President L. Horangse Sangtam reminded of the ENPO resolution dated 31/07/2010 at Tuensang town wherein in resolution No. 2, the ENPO had categorically mentioned that ENPO has permitted the proposed Road Show at Pungro town and had written to the State Government and accordingly, the State Government has given instruction to go ahead with the preparation for the program.

In this regard, the USLB informed the ENPO that, USLB stands by the standing State Government restraining order to hold any type of Conference/Convention/Public Gatherings at Pungro Town till the land ownership dispute is settled. The letter also mentioned that ENPO General Session could not be held for the same reason in the past. USLB therefore appealed to the ENPO to withdraw the resolution submitted to the Government within 03/08/2010, failure of which, USLB will not be held responsible for any untoward incident, and in the event of any crisis arising out of this issue, ENPO shall be held responsible and USLB shall be compelled to take further course of action, it stated.
