USLP demands removal of Kiphire DC within 7 days

KIPHIRE, JANUARY 25 (MExN): The United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) has demanded the removal of the Kiphire Deputy Commissioner within 7 days accusing the latter of displaying “unethical and ignorant attitude” towards the former’s General Secretary during the ‘Aspirational District Committee’ meeting held on January 22 at the DC’s chamber.

A press release from USLP President, T Seopi Sangtam said that as the USLP General Secretary was seeking some clarification with regard to the implementation of CSR funding under the ‘Aspirational District’ programme in Kiphire, the DC allegedly “asked the General Secretary to leave the meeting.”

“It has been observed that the DC instead of working in close coordination with all the stakeholders and civil society organizations is bizarrely hell bent on dismantling the healthy relationship that has been nurtured by his predecessors with the stakeholders,” the USLP claimed.

It added that the working relationship has been “completely derailed” between the administration, CSOs and the public of Kiphire district “due to the self style functioning of the incumbent DC.” The USLP demanded that the officer be removed within 7 days “failing which the USLP will initiate its own course of action.”
