Kiphire, June 13 (MExN): District Mission Authority (SSA) Kiphire organized block level sensitization on community mobilization training at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire on June 13.
Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire, M. Shayung Phom mentioned that proxy teacher appointment practice was considered by the Village Education Committee (VEC) in many places of the state. The DC Kiphire appealed to the Village Level Education Committee to strictly stop the practices. He said that the government of Nagaland has conducted interview to select the best of the best educate young people and sent in the school to teach the children in order to impart quality education. But the village Education Committee manipulates the good process and encourages proxy teachers which hamper the quality of teaching in the schools. DC asked the VEC, TEC, WEC and SMB to be aware of new government policy of Samagra Sakshi.
Dr. Kevi Rio, Joint Mission Director, Samagra Nagaland mentioned about the responsibility and the role to be played by the Community in the district. He said that in government schools, results are not satisfactory all because of proxy teachers. He encouraged the parents and the community to let the dropout children go for vocational training so that they can earn their living. He requested the land owners to offer their land for school constructions for the benefit of the district.
The programme was chaired by Zeose Sangtam, Data Entry Operator, DMA Kiphire while keynote address was delivered by DEO & District Project Coordinator, Deenabandhu Panda and welcome address was given by Loose, Sr. SDEO Kiphire.
Later, the training concluded with the release of a video on role and responsibility of SMCs/ VECs/ TECs.
