Village Level Org offices under BMMU Kuhuboto inaugurated

Dimapur, October 8 (MExN): The Pekho Village Level Organization and Kuphu Village Level Organization (VLO) offices of Pukhato and Ghokito villages under RD Block Kuhuboto, Dimapur were inaugurated at the respective villages by Tsuktiyatet, DPO cum DPM, District Mission Management Unit, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) on October 6.

The DPO cum DPM DMMU Dimapur in his message urged the SHGs and VLOs to help each other and challenged the VLOs to eradicate the mentality of receiving subsidies and grants from the government and to start working and earning. 

On the Community Investment Fund provided by the NSRLM, the DPO urged the VLOs and SHGs not to consider it as the only source but to utilize it judiciously and multiply the amount. He urged the participants to consider it as a seed from the Government and to nurture it and to enjoy the fruits after some years. He encouraged them to grow collectively and urged the village council to guide the SHGs and VLOs.

Speaking on the occasion, Chenton Konyak, Block Program Manager, BMMU Kuhuboto congratulated the VLOs for achieving a milestone and forming Village Level Organization. He urged them to work tirelessly for the upliftment of the poor households and challenged them to be able to create a sustainable income for each household under their organization. The BPM Kuhuboto encouraged the VLOs to be prepared for the next step and form Federations at the Block Level and also urged the VLOs to cooperate with the Department.

The programme was attended by officials from the District Mission Management Unit Dimapur and Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU), Kuhuboto.

It was informed in a press release that after the Government of Nagaland unlock orders and with the permission to conduct gatherings with limited participation and following SOPs, BMMU Kuhuboto decided to inaugurate all VLO offices which have been formed before the lockdown.
