Wokha, May 23 (MExN): In order to tackle the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic; to detect and contain the spread of cases from urban to rural areas, village surveillance team led by NSRLM- RD was formed at Ruchan and Liphi villages under Bhandari block in coordination with the medical department, social welfare department, church leaders and other village stakeholders.
As per a press release from NSRLM, the surveillance team will make all possible efforts in adherence to the SOPs, to prevent community spread by community surveillance of people with COVID-19 like symptoms.
This is in tune to assist the community surveillance exercise by District Task Force in the rural areas and as a continued effort towards rural community’s response and preparedness to COVID-19, the release added.
The team is steered by NSRLM SHG members and community cadres along with ASHA; AWW, church leaders and village stakeholders.
