VITEEE 2020 stands cancelled, admission on basis of Class 12 marks

Vellore, July 11 (MExN): The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2020 for admission to various engineering programmes under Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) group of Institutions has been cancelled, an official release informed today. 

 

“Conducting VITEEE-2020 in various cities with rising infections has become risky and dangerous. To keep the student and parent community safe, VITEEE-2020 stands cancelled,” stated the release from N Arun Kumar Assistant Director, VIT’s Corporate Communication & Media Relations.

 

The admission would be based on 10+2 /Pre-University marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology, it said.  “Those who scored in JEE (Main) will be given weightage,” it added. 

 

VITEEE is conducted annually for admission to various engineering programmes offered by VIT group of Institutions in Vellore, Chennai, Amravati (Andhra Pradesh) and Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh).

 

 Meanwhile, the release also informed that the forms for providing the marks and JEE (Main) scores have already been provided in the VIT’s website “www.vit.ac.in.”


“Applicants are requested to kindly update their VITEEE applications at the earliest,” it said adding that in case the results of the Board Examination taken are not declared, “they may upload the marks as soon as the results are available.”
