WADA, NAYO condemn May 18 incident

Kohima, May 22 (MExN): The Western Angami Dobashi Association (WADA) has expressed anguish over May 18 incident where Lt Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou and his son Thejavizo Miasalhou were manhandled at Phool Bhari Kohima by two youth, Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie of Kohima village, where Lt Kezhalelie later succumbed to his injuries.

“This gruesome act reflects that if an officer is no more safe, then, there is no security guarantee for an ordinary person’s life in the state's capital,” WADA President Visakholie Nisa and General Secretary Neivilhoutuo John Sechii stated in a press release.

WADA condemned “this criminal act of murder committed by the two youth, and therefore, appeals to the competent authority to expedite and punish the criminals with the highest level under the section of Indian Penal Code relevant to murder case.” It further warned that any individual or organisation/group trying to manipulate or bring foul play in the way of justice will not be tolerated.

NAYO: Expressing deep shock over the incident, the Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) stated “This incident has not only brought shame to the people of Angami but also tarnished the good image of the Northern Angami people.” The NAYO strongly condemned “the inhuman act caused by two of our members, Mr Neizosetuo Kire and Mr Khrietsonyii Whuorie.” NAYO stated that it shall extend its utmost support and appealed the law enforcing agencies to expedite the investigation and deliver justice to the victim at the earliest. This was stated in a press release issued by NAYO President Khrievolie Zhale and General Secretary Kholievizo Chadi.
