Kohima, February 5 (MExN): The 62nd Sports (Wrestling) Meet 2026 of the Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO) will take place on February 6 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground). The meet will witness 48 wrestlers under senior category and 16 wrestlers Under-15 category. Kovi Meyase, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, will be the Special Guest while Theyievilie Suohumvü, president, Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) will be the Guest of Honour. The inaugural programme will start from 9:00 AM onwards.
WAYO general secretary Dr. Rü-ünguso Kuotsu will chair the inaugural programme while WAYO president Pelesavi Rürhie will deliver presidential address. WAYO wrestling secretary Megozokho Hesielie will administer oath to the wrestlers.
The prize sponsors for the senior category includes; (1st Prize) -Kekhrievor Kevichusa, (2nd Prize)-Andeep Modi, (3rd Prize)-Khotso Rürhie, (4th Prize)-Neinguvotuo Krose and the losing quarter finalists prize by Melie Nakhro.
Prize sponsors for Under-15 Category: 1st Prize by Kekhrielhoukho Sano, 2nd Prize by Viralhou Sechü, 3rd Prize by Ketoulhoukho Kuotsu and 4th Prize by Mego Seyie.
The patrons for the wrestling meet include Ketholelie Terhüja, Megolhou Dolie, Kedozokho Peseyie, Dievizo Nagi, Vikedosie Kruse, Rüüngutuo Sechü, Rovilhousie Miasalhou and Rajuselie Lhousa.
Mhieserietuo Punyu will officiate as Match Commissioner, while the referees and field judges will have Seyielhoukho Sechü as Chief Referee. Others includes Megorietuo Chase, Mhiesilie Rhitso, Khrietuolie Usou, Amos Kikhi, Kekhrie Yhoshü, Mozolie Semou, and Neikho Kire.
The Jury Board comprises; Vilietuo Miasalhou, Thekruzoto Gwirie, Ketoulhoukho Kuotsu, Megozokho Hesielie and Rokovitso Whiso.
