Kohima | September 2 : A child care project of Believers Church, known as “Bridge of Hope” was launched on September 1 in the state capital in the presence of MLA Deo Nukhu, advisor, Art & Culture, New & Renewable Energy and Science & Technology.
Located at in High School Colony, “Bridge of Hope” aims to give care and protection to underprivileged children. Bridge of Hope has 525 centres throughout India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Myanmar. There are 11 such centers in Nagaland, extending help to 1200 children and it aims to give quality based education to children besides providing nutritious food, uniforms, books etc.
Speaking at the launching programme, Nukhu termed the venture of “Bridge of Hope” as unique project.
Terming love and care as the highest human values, and opined that “we cannot love humanity without giving”. Stating that “we are all considered as believers and Christians” Nukhu however felt that except for the preaching, we have missed out certain things in terms of human kindness and action. “In reality, unless we can give what we can, our love is incomplete”, he said.
MARCOFED Ltd ex-chairman Walo G.Rengma (Johny) also spoke on the occasion while the brief account of the ministry was highlighted by Rt.Rev.B.Sundar Raj, Bishop-Believers Church Nagaland Diocese.
The function was chaired by Rev. Fr.Kasthang Kath while Khetoshe Chishi, principal, Christ for the Nation Bible College Kohima said a prayer. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Rev.Fr.Hisenlo Kath, BCI Diocesan Secretary Dimapur.
