‘We have to receive education in a joyful way’

Dimapur: North Town Higher Secondary School (NTHSS), Chumukedima observed its 24th annual sports meet today at the school premises.

During the inaugural programme, Chairman of the Managing Board NTHSS, Er. K. Kruse highlighted that the NTHSS is committed to academic excellence, character formation & social concern. He affirmed that the school management and staff continue to stand by this vision. He stated that NTHSS is cosmopolitan in nature, with students from all the tribes. “We have to receive education in a joyful way,” he said. Our goal, he said, is not only academic excellence but to produce citizens who are an asset to their tribe, village and state. To this, he added that NTHSS has been making tremendous progress and stated that in the latest HSLC examination, the students achieved excellent results. He also declared, “The celebration held today is just a heralding for the coming 25th year celebration”.  

Noke Wangnao, Nagaland Minister for PHE, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He expressed satisfaction on the fact that NTHSS provides holistic education. He also remarked on the school’s consistent results for the past 24 years in Chumukedima area. He congratulated the staff involved and the students for this achievement. “The reputation of a school is build by the management and staff and the student combined. So I encourage everyone to be united and work together for achieving further glory,” he further stated.

Declaring the 24th Annual Sports Meet open, Wangnao also stressed on the necessity of all round development- physical, moral and spiritual growth in an individual. He stated that the playground is a place to cultivate the qualities of sportsmanship. “This is a training ground for life as school is a place to prepare oneself for the future ahead.”

The 24th Annual sports meet was marked with ‘March Past’ by four house contingents of North Town Higher Secondary School students. Also, lively group dance and song items, and other special entertainment were presented by the students.
