Kohima, April 20 (MExN): With the rapid surge of COVID 19 cases all over India, including Kohima district, owing to the second wave, practicing COVID appropriate behaviour, especially of mandatory wearing of masks in public places and practicing social/physical distance shall be strictly enforced in Kohima district

Organizers of social/academic/entertainment/cultural/political/religious functions, shops, markets, restaurants, hotels, business establishments, government and private offices, educational and religious establishments, public transport under Kohima district are to strictly enforce COVID appropriate behaviours of mandatory wearing of masks, hand hygiene (hand wash/hand sanitizer) and maintaining physical distance,” Kohima deputy commissioner stated in an order issued on Monday.

All gatherings outside the Containment Zone, which is permissible, shall be limited to 50% of the_seating capacity or 200 persons, whichever is lower.

Thermal Screening shall also be mandatory for all gatherings. In the case where the number of persons is more than 200 in open spaces, prior permission of the DTF shall be taken by e-mail/ WhatsApp to warroomkohima@gmail.com or 8413097970.

Defaulters shall be penalised as per Government Order, the order stated.

Failure to comply with those directives shall also be penalized under Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and relevant sections of the IPC.
 
Restrictions on entry of visitors into Kohima DC office complex

Kohima Deputy Commissioner stated that the security and smooth functioning of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima is hampered by the easy access of visitors who have no official work or matter to be attended to.

In this respect, it has issued certain instructions for immediate compliance.

It stated that no visitor shall be allowed entry for purpose of selling any items of handicraft, ticket, calendars, badges, etc.

Only authorized vehicles shall be allowed entry into the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Complex and all other vehicles shall be parked outside the Complex.

There shall be no public interview in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima on Wednesdays, except for matters of very urgent nature and matters concerning law and order.

No visitor shall have access to any file or noting from any file, except through the laid down procedure of the RTI Act.

The authorized officer/staff/dealing/assistant/peon shall be accountable for safe custody and proper handling of files and records.

The SDO(C) (Establishment) shall co-ordinate the required logistics for effective adherence to these instructions, stated Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie in an order issued on Monday.

And also owing to the rapid surge in COVID-19 cases in the whole country including Kohima district, DC Kohima stated that all Officers, Staff and visitors to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima Complex shall mandatorily wear mask, practice physical distancing and hand hygiene at all times.
