Western Sümi region village chiefs attend consultative meeting

Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): In pursuance to the platinum jubilee celebration by WSBAK in the year 2022, the consultative meeting of Western Sümi Kükami was held at Aküvüto, Thahekhu on October 27. 

More than 150 Kükami (village chiefs) representing about 138 villages from Western Sümi region participated in the consultation, informed a press release issued by Rev Dr Phughoto Sema, Executive Secretary, WSBAK.

The guest of honour, Tokheho Yepthomi, MP Lok Sakha exhorted the Kükami to be united and work for the church and society. He encouraged them to be more responsible and an honest leader as they are desired by the people and preserved by God.

Dr Nihoto P Chishi (95), Ato Kükau (Chief) of Nihoto Village one of the oldest chief from Western Sümi villages brought goodwill message of cooperation for the Jubilee celebration project. Dr Chishi is also the teacher of MP Tokheho during school days in Aghunato. He encouraged the chiefs to be honest and take care of the needs of the people who seek their help. Dr Izheho Zhimomi (85), Ato Kükau Sakipheto and many others gave solidarity speeches.

The Western Sümi Kükami unanimously decided to give full cooperation towards the celebration of WSBAK Platinum Jubilee in every way possible. The Western Sümi Kükami also decided to strengthen the Western Sümi Baptist Akukuhou Küqhakulu in letter and spirit.
