What would you suggest to effectively overcome tribalism in Naga society? Give reasons.

Healing and reconciliation through forgiveness:
1.    There is lots of trauma and bitterness between tribes and this cannot only be overcome through healing and forgiveness. To overcome tribalism there must be reconciliation between tribes.
2.    We say Nagaland is land of Christ, where we see big churches but bitter truth about we Nagas is we do this just for name sake.

Education and inter-tribe exchange:
•    Education, meaning real education. We need to get rid of the stereotypes that we have of other tribes. That will come only when people are truly educated to be broad minded and also letting go of isms ingrained in our mindset.
•    No tribe is enemy to other, no amount of prayer will do magic, so inter-tribe exchange, and facilitating people to meet each other is the best idea.
•    Our society is based on the close family bond, inter tribe marriage will brings us more closer.
•    We unknowingly see people simply as a statistic when we know them only through word of mouth, paper or through electronic screens. If we want to overcome tribalism we have to humanise the other person. We have to learn to see the world through their lenses as well and when we are able to do that, we will break down barriers of structural biases that keeps us from seeing our shared humanity.

Other (Specify):
•    Need to address the issue starting from tribal churches (In the town and city) to accommodate and collaborate with other linguistic churches.
•    The media in Nagaland can play its part by removing the felicitation sections that are subconsciously and unknowingly promoting tribal bias and ism to the people of Nagaland, especially the youth. It may seem harmless but it is not, most thoughts and intentions starts from the subconscious mind. The media can accept felicitations by removing information about tribes and villages, why not just mentioned his/her name and the district to which he belongs to? And the fact that he/she is a Naga. Isn't that more than enough?
•    To overcome tribalism, the education and awareness must begin in the Church. Can the tribe churches give way to the Naga church? Why should Christians be separated by tribes?
•    Tribalism is not a disease, it's natural anywhere in the world. The disease is when one becomes blinded by it. Justifying the wrong deeds of tribesmen and supporting them even when they are wrong. The issue is purely ethical and being morally correct...and Nagas are a pitiful lot in this regard. Can't call a spade a spade.
•    When the government is busy creating districts on the basis of tribe how is it possible to overcome tribalism. The creation of tribe based districts is going to create a lot of isms and will only lead to more divisions and fragmentation among Nagas.
