A wildfire erupted around Pellhang village under Ahthibung sub-division, Peren district on March 25 evening. Huts and other properties belonging to around 25 households were destroyed in the fire. Huge area of plantations viz rubber, pineapple, areca nut etc were badly affected. The timely intervention of the Fire and Emergency Services (Jalukie) and the OC Ahthibung and his team, prevented any further causalities, a DIPR report informed. The village authority has appealed to the concerned authority to look into the matter at the earliest. (DIPR Photo)
