‘Will continue to maintain CFGR’

NSCN (R) issues declaration

Dimapur, March 30 (MExN): The NSCN (R) on Tuesday stated that Khekato Kinnimi “is still a terminated individual and a fugitive,” with no business or authority in any of the organisation’s affairs. It also stated that any press releases statements issued by any individuals other than the Ministry of Information & Publicity (MIP) are “not acknowledged and remains unofficial.”

In a ‘declaration’ issued through its MIP, the NSCN (R) informed that an ‘extraordinary emergency joint council meeting’ was held under the directive of its President, Wangtin Naga on August 28, 2019 where it was unanimously resolved to expel Khekato Kinnimi who it said, was found guilty of the murder of Late Major Toishe of the NSCN (IM). “Hence, any mischievous misadventures being perpetrated by Khekato claiming to be Chaplee Kilonser is purely self styled,” it added.

The statement also clarified that the “NSCN (R) has no member by the name ‘Khekhato Kenny’ as appeared in media, other than the expelled former Kilonser ‘Khekato Kinnimi.’ Hence, the name Khekhato Kenny is alien and incognito to the NSCN (R).”

Further, it stated that as per the press statements of Kulolau Yemishe Ghami Kuqhakulu (KYGK), Yemishe Students Union (YSU) and Lizuto Union, the murder of late Toishe is still not yet resolved between the murderer and the victim family. In this connection, it pointed out that “since Khekato is still booked in connection with the murder case - GR 674/19, his status still remains as an ‘absconding murder accused,’” and questioned the “as to why the police are doing nothing even when Khekato is roaming around freely with 4-5 weapons.”

It also sought clarification from the CFSB/CFMG on why Khekato is allowed to carry weapons, “despite having no Ceasefire Identity card, since his CF Card was immediately cancelled for his murder involvement, whereas, on the other hand, some NSCN's card holders are being searched, harassed, raided and arrested, even after producing their CF Id cards.” Nevertheless, it stated that the NSCN (R) would still continue to abide and maintain the Ceasefire Ground Rules and urged the Police and the CFSB/CFMG to initiate action upon the alleged murderer.

“However, if perchance the ‘Police and the CFSB/CFMG’ cannot act or too scared to face Khekato (or for any other reasons best known to them) to initiate action upon the murderer, the NSCN (R) suggest the competent authority (Police and CFSB/CFMG) to openly declare and give us a free hand, so that we may act in their stead and settle the issue with the disgraced former Kilonser and killer Khekato, for once and for all,” the statement read.

The NSCN (R) meanwhile accused the security forces of conspiring with Khekato “so as to raid/arrest the NSCN (R) card holders,” and claimed to have “All proof and material evidence,” in support of its claims.

“As per our investigations, some proof and material evidence are also available with us that Khekato is being sheltered and covered by some high ranking police officials and legislators,” it further claimed. “In this connection, the NSCN (R) reminds everyone that, being a high ranking police official, who had ‘sworn allegiance to serve and protect’ or a public leader (elected on People's mandate) does not qualify you to harbour, protect and obstruct 'free and fair trial' as a result denying justice to victims and victim's family,” the statement read.

The NSCN (R) also called on the NSCN (IM) to clarify if it had given a ‘clean chit’ in the aforementioned case, as claimed by Khekato and pointed out that “the so called 'Clean Chit' was simply scribbled in a plain paper, and not on Official Letterhead and without any Official Stamps or Seals.”

It further clarified that the chair of Chaplee Kilonser “is still kept in abeyance, and if necessary could be taken up and approved only in the cabinet Kilonsers sittings, on the advice of the Collective Leadership,” and reiterated that Khekato “is still a terminated individual and a fugitive with no locus standi who has no business /authority whatsoever in any of NSCN’s affairs.”

“Therefore anyone dealing with the fugitive, drifters and absconding murder accused shall be doing so in their own individual’s risk,” it added.

It further cautioned, “Khekato and his gang of misguided thugs” against disturbing the peaceful atmosphere while adding that that the “NSCN (R) has no desire to waste time with some ousted vagabonds or outlaws, and may not issue any more clarification or press statements.”
