Kohima, March 19 (MExN): The Nagaland In-service Doctors Association (NIDA) executive body held an emergency meeting with the Core Committee Members on Superannuation on March 19 and resolved that all members of NIDA will continue to wear black arm-bands as initiated on January 25, 2021. The resolution reaffirms its stance of resentment towards the State government for non-implementation of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s package announced on May 26, 2016 to enhance superannuation age of medical doctors in the country. It added that, following the announcement, most of the States in the country have already implemented the same. A representation pertaining to the ongoing issue has also been submitted to the Chief Minister, it informed. In view of the positive assurance received from the State Health and Family Welfare Minister, the Association said that it has not escalated its agitation. The Association also resolved that further course of action will depend on the response of the State government.
