Total cessation of work from May 1 without govt’s written assurance
Zunheboto, March 21 (MExN): The SARDP Sumi Area Affected Landowners Welfare Committee (SSAALWC) on Sunday informed that the suspension of the ongoing 2-lane road project enforced on March 10 has been revoked for a period of 40 days.
In its letter to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto, the Committee stated that the decision is as per a meeting held on March 20 with district administration, Sumi Frontal Organizations and the affected villages.
Based on the assurance given by the Governor of Nagaland to the Zunheboto DC on March 9 at Chozuba, Phek, and the courtesy call made by the administration and Sumi frontal organizations, the SSAALWC has agreed to revoke the suspension of ongoing 2-lane road project, it informed.
The revocation of work suspension is for a period of 40 days with effect from March 22 to April 30, it added.
If no written assurance from the government reaches the office of the SSAALWC before the expiry of the mentioned period, total cessation of work will be imposed by May 1, it cautioned.
It further requested the administration and all the Sumi frontal organizations to cooperate with the affected villages during the work suspension period if the government fails to fulfill its demand before the given deadline “as agreed unanimously in the joint meeting.”
