‘Winter Fest’ for pets and families organized by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) at Dimapur Government College ground on November 27.

Two-day ‘Winter Fest’ for pets and families organized by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS at Dimapur Government College ground on November 27.
Addressing the inaugural function, the DC Dimapur said that SPCA Dimapur is one of the most active in the entire state and is “one step ahead and very pro-active.” He observed that on the awareness and the way we treat the pets and the conducive atmosphere we create for the pets is concerned, the state is still in an initial state.
“But I am definitely sure that the animal lovers and passionate people and the state as a whole, the love of pets or any other animals, we will move forward towards betterment,” the DC said while adding that ‘if one really respects God and anyone who have accepted God can even subject any form of cruelty.’
The DC Dimapur later formally announced the ‘Winter Fest’ for pets and families open.
Earlier, the invocation was said by Anne, pastor, The warehouse Church; welcome address by Marian Rao, executive secretary, SPCA Dimapur; vote of thanks by N Joseph Lemtur, vice president, SPCA Dimapur; Music for the Soul by Kekhrie Ringa; Hands of Heaven by Maria Cherednikova were the highlights of the inaugural programme.
The event which is open for free from 1:00 pm till 8:00 pm features Pet café, Pet Grooming, Dog Fsahion Show, Micro chipping and kidney testing of pets, live music etc.
