With 128 new cases, Nagaland sees surge in traced positives

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): Nagaland reported a total on 128 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday taking the total number of infections to 9,455.

Out of the new cases, 61 were from Dimapur, 54 from Mon, 11 from Kohima and 2 were from Peren, according to data provided by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, Health and Family Welfare.

64 were traced positive contacts, of which, 46 were in Mon, 9 in Kohima, 8 in Dimapur and 1 in Peren. 55 were armed forces personnel, 6 returnees and 3 frontline workers. 

As per the data, 54 persons who were previously COVID-19 positive recovered in the last 24 hours. Of these, 40 were from Dimapur, 13 from Kohima and 1 was from Zunheboto. 

Out of the 9,455 positive cases, the total recoveries so far are 8,249 while 1,071 are active cases and there have been 39 deaths. 

As per the severity of symptoms 1,012 active cases are asymptomatic, 34 active cases are mild, 11 active cases are moderate on oxygen, 8 active cases are severe on oxygen, 2 active cases are critical without oxygen and 4 active cases are on ventilator.
