Wokha, January 29 (MExN): The Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) expressed its concern on non-completion of bridge over Doyang. Once completed, the bridge over Doyang River which falls under Nagaland Foot-Hill Road (renamed as Nagaland Express Highway), would become the lifeline for the whole State of Nagaland, the board stated in its meeting held at Liphayan Governors camp on January 28.
The meeting saw several departments highlighting their action plans and activities to be implemented during the targeted period at Liphayan which is one of the aspirational villages under 40-Bhandari Assembly Constituency, a DIPR report informed.
The meeting also approved the proposal for upgradation of EAC Changpang to SDO (C) with Border Magistrate, recognising the need for an officer on the ground to support the dialogue between Assam and Nagaland. It also approved the proposal to upgrade Baghty into Town Council as it fulfills the required criteria and the area has scope and potential for expansion in various areas of development, the DIPR report stated.
