Wokha, August 9 (MExN): The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at Deputy Commissioner conference hall, Wokha on August 9. The meeting was chaired by Vice-chairman DPDB and DC Wokha, Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS. Advisor for Horticulture, Mhathung Yanthan also attended the meeting.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the board approved upgradation of EAC headquarters Sungro to that of SDO (C) Administrative Headquarter. The proposal submitted by EAC Lotsu for construction of new office building was deliberated where the chairman directed CAWD to prepare technical estimate for onward submission to higher authority for recommendation.
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr Robin Lotha informed the board about absence of doctor at Moilan. The doctor is on study leave. He also said the matter is being discussed with higher authorities for temporary doctor until the concerned doctor completes his study.
He also apprised the board on the requirement of more PHC in Ralan area and requested the villages under the area to submit representation.
For construction and installation of Transmission centers at Sanis, Sungro and Lakhuti, EE (Power), Abenthung Ngullie informed the board that Sanis Transmission Centers has already been constructed and operational, and for Sungro and Lakhuti he has submitted the proposal to higher authority which is already in pipeline.
For submission of project estimate for water supply at middle range consisting of 15 villages including Sungro town and Aree Old and New villages, EE (PHED) apprised that the same estimated project is being submitted for approval. He also appealed to all the villagers to extend support in order to provide them proper water supply.
In regard to creation of a Wild Range at Sanis area, the Advisor mentioned that maximum presence of wild elephant is at Sanis area and expressed the need to have the office established. The board agreed in principle to approved the said proposal.
For construction of retaining wall for DPDB conference hall, the board decided to take up the construction work under NDRF. Looking into the importance to look after the affairs of DHEP Doyang and for settlement of land issues and maintenance of law and order situation, revival of ADC HQs Doyang was also deliberated by the board and approved the same for administrative convenience.
For construction of CC Circular road and rainwater harvesting tank at Yonchucho village, department of PHED & RD were asked to take up the matter.
District Programme Associate (NSDMA), Mercy Kithan gave a brief report of Wokha District Disaster Management Authority's visit to flood affected villages under Bhandari sub-division on August 5. DDMA chairman & DC Wokha along with ADC Bhandari, SDRF team and other official had visited 4 relief camp at Ruchan, Renthan and Liphi village. The team distributed emergency relief fund, relief materials and basic essential commodities.
Further, the DC appealed all employees, colonies/wards and general public to take part in the mass social work to be held on August 11 and added that attendance for all government employees will be taken and action will be initiated against absentees. He also requested all head of offices to donate books for the recently inaugurated district public library. This was stated in a DIPR report.
