WOKHA, OCTOBER 13 (MExN): The Wokha Athletics Association will organise the Wokha District Junior Athletics Meet 2026 at the Public Ground, Wokha, on October 15. The meet, originally scheduled for October 14, has been rescheduled by a day. The district-level meet will also serve as a selection platform to identify promising junior athletes for the National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) 2026.
Competitions will be held for boys and girls in the Under-14 and Under-16 categories. The Under-14 events will include Triathlon, Triathlon A and Triathlon C, while the Under-16 events will comprise 60m, 600m, javelin throw and long jump. The javelin specifications are 600g for boys and 500g for girls, with a 10m approach.
Eligible athletes from Wokha district may participate. Under-14 athletes must have been born between November 17, 2012, and November 16, 2014, while Under-16 athletes must have been born between November 17, 2010, and November 16, 2012. Athletes must be at least 12 years old as of November 16, 2026, and an Aadhaar card is mandatory for registration.
Reporting is scheduled for 8 am, with a registration fee of Rs 100 per athlete. Outstanding performers will be shortlisted for NIDJAM 2026, scheduled from November 14 to 16 at Woxsen University, Kamkole, Sadasivpet, Hyderabad, Telangana.
