Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, C James Ezung, Fathers, church elders and dignitaries during the Wokha Town Catholic Youth Association silver jubilee celebration at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Wokha on December 13 and 14.

Wokha, December 15 (MExN): Wokha Town Catholic Youth Association (WTCYA) celebrated silver jubilee under the theme ‘Fear Lord and serve Him truly and sincerely’ – Joshua 24:14 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Wokha on December 13 and 14.
The media cell in a press release stated that on the second day, Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist and dedicated the Jubilee monolith. C James Ezung, Asst Director, Department of Social Welfare was the special guest and unveiled the jubilee monolith in the presence of fathers and sisters, church leaders, dignitaries and delegates from different parish and units. Dignitaries of CAN, NCYM, LCU and LCYA were also present for the occasion.
In his address, C James Ezung, who was the first member from the community to clear Nagaland Public Service Commission examination, encouraged the congregation to remain firm and active with true spirit and determination and strive for excellence. Recalling the last 25 years, he laid a remark that since inception the youths remain united in one spirit though the community was small in number and through the support and initiative of the pioneers and the youths a good foundation was laid despite hardships and challenges and thus today a big achievement was made celebrating silver jubilee occasion.
The programme adjoined with Holy Mass celebration led by Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese. In His homily, Bishop said that jubilee is an occasion to rejoice with gratitude and thank God for the manifold blessings and encouraged the congregation to take firm step making difference in the society by going back enriched, empowered and strengthening catholic faith and life.
Speaking on the theme, Bishop suggested the congregation to build up an intimacy with God through prayers, knowing one’s faith, practicing forgiveness, living a just life in one’s job, being a domestic church and sharing one’s faith.
Jubilee greetings and messages were also expressed from the NCYM and LCYA during the occasion.
Earlier, the celebration flag hoisting was graced by the first WTCYA President Tumchobemo N Humtsoe while launching of jubilee souvenir was graced by Mhabemo T Humtsoe, Block Development Officer, Nagaland. The Holy Mass celebration was led by Rev Fr John Nchumbemo Kikon. He emphasized on the blessings of God and the duty to be thankful for sustaining the Church and to examine the drawbacks the youths are lacking in.
