Women’s volleyball tournament held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): A women’s volleyball tournament under SPANDAN – Sports for Peace and Development across Nations was organised by 78 Battalion, CRPF, in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), at B/78 BN NIDC, Dimapur on September 7.

Ten teams participated in the tournament, with five matches conducted during the day. Court Queen Club defeated Livingstone Foundation 2-1 in the opening match, while Titanias beat Unity College “B” 2-0.

In the third match, Blaze Club defeated Women’s Club 2-0. Volaris Team secured a 2-0 victory over Unity College “A”, while Unity Club defeated Cornerstone College 2-0 in the fifth match. The tournament showcased teamwork, discipline and competitive spirit among the participating teams. According to the 78 Battalion CRPF, the event was aimed at promoting sportsmanship, camaraderie and positive community engagement through sporting activities. The tournament under SPANDAN also seeks to provide a platform for participation and healthy competition while promoting the values of peace and development through sports.
