Workshop held in Zunheboto Govt College 

Zunheboto, March 11 (MExN): A three-day workshop on youth development and empowerment sponsored by the Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) was held the Government College in Zunheboto from March 4 to 6. 

The programme was inaugurated at the college by Extra Assistant Commissioner, Zunheboto, N Orenthung Kikon in the presence of the students and teachers.

Resource persons from different parts of the country joined the sessions through video conferencing to guide and educate the students, according to a press release from the Media Coordinator for the Seminar, Bombo K Yeptho.

The seminar is being held in order to develop the mentality of the students and their way of thinking, it informed. Resource persons interacted with the students through daily sessions which were divided into two parts every day.

After the COVID-19 lockdown this was the first event organized at the college and soon the college will also open for regular classes, the press release added.

EAC N Orenthung Kikonw while speaking at the event encouraged the youth to take the opportunity and learn as many things as possible through this kind of seminars and also try to educate others students. 

He also said that the youth should concentrate and try to compete with each other and gain more education in order to take the society forward towards development.

Today's youth will be the leaders of tomorrow and they should be very much well versed with the issues of the society, he opined.

Zunheboto Government, College Principal K Nishena Nekha also said that the students can get to learn so many things through this kind of conference. He said that not only the students but even the teachers will get to learn more and find a new way of teaching and get interesting topics to discuss.
