Dimapur, December 10 (MExN): North East Artist Network (NEAN) drop-in-center in collaboration with Private Pharmaceutical Company (PPC) conducted a one-day workshop on Hepatitis with AA members from Diphupar Ao Church and Autorickshaw Driver’s Union, Supermarket.
A press release received here stated that the workshop highlighted on the roots of transmission and clinical test such as HBV DNA Quantitative, HCV RNA Quantitative and genotyping. Hepatitis B is incurable but has a vaccine whereas Hepatitis C is curable but it does not have a vaccine.
One of the resource person emphasized on genotyping where there are 1-6 genotyping for HCV. Earlier for HCV both HCV RNA Quantitative and Genotyping test would be taken, but with the launch of new drugs which works for every genotyping, which is a three (3 months) course, treatment can be started without genotyping test. The representative also highlighted how to access subsidized Hepatitis medicines.
