Workshop on research writing and publication held at Baptist College

KOHIMA, AUGUST 14 (MExN): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Baptist College, Kohima, organised a one-day workshop on “Techniques and Practices in Research Writing and Publication” to strengthen the research skills and academic output of faculty members.

Prof Jangkhomang Guite, Head, Department of History and Archaeology, Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, was the resource person for both sessions.

The inaugural programme began with a prayer by Ms. Tabitha, Assistant Professor, Department of History, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Sentnaro, Coordinator, IQAC.

In the first session, Prof Guite spoke on the fundamentals of research writing, including planning, clarity, use of evidence, referencing, and the importance of academic integrity.

The second session focused on academic publishing, covering journal selection, peer review, publication ethics, open-access models, and common causes of rejection, while stressing the importance of originality and credible sourcing.

The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A moderated by Süvilü Venuh and Dr Visetonu Natso. Seyieslie Vüprü, Assistant Coordinator, IQAC, proposed the vote of thanks.
