Kohima, March 8 (MExN): The Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA) handed over a new college bus for Yingli Government College at the Directorate Office of DUDA on March 8.
A short ‘handing-taking over’ programme was attended by Minister of Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along, DUDA Advisor N Bongkhao Konyak, along with directors and officials of DUDA and Higher Education Departments. While handing over the college bus, Minister Temjen Imna Along said that this gesture of DUDA will encourage the student community and be an added boost in supporting the college administration, a DIPR report stated.
DUDA Advisor Bongkhao Konyak stated that the department is committed to ensuring that educational development in the five backward districts of Eastern Nagaland is galvanised and that tangible achievements are met with various programmes so as to address the intra-district imbalances.
The Department of Underdevelopment Areas is focused on human resource development so as to bring a transformative change in the backward areas through State anchored programmes. The college bus was procured from the Underdeveloped Areas Programme (UDAP) during 2020-21, the DIPR report stated.
