Naga Hoho General Secretary K Elu Edang said that the Naga struggle for self-determination is movement started by the Naga people against forceful occupation of India with a vision for a free Naga nation.

“The present generations have inherited from our elders. We have not created the movement. Therefore, the youths must be more sensitive to the movement for you are going to inherit either for good or bad,” he said while addressing the gathering at the recently concluded 3rd edition of Snail & Trout Festival of Poilwa under Peren district organized by Mt Rhodendron Adventure Club Poilwa.

Let us contribute our best so that posterity will not blame us for our failures, he said.

The Naga political talks is undergoing through a crucial stage whereas, because of our division in every aspects of the Naga society, the negotiation have become complicated, he said.

“It is like an old saying ‘too many cooks spoil the curry.’ From politician to civil societies, tribal Hoho and students' bodies and above all the Naga National workers,” Ndang said.

India is responsible for all this divisions and therefore, we must be watchful of how we talk and act lest we succumbed to the trap of the enemies, he expressed.

Ndang called upon the people not to lose hope “but have confidence and strengthen our leaders to negotiate what is best for our Naga people.”
