Kohima, November 29 (MExN): Under the initiative of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), Zanibou Organic Market was inaugurated at Chakhesang Community Complex, Chakhesang Colony, Dimapur on November 29.

The main purpose in setting up Zanibou Organic Market is to create progressive market with consistence support from local farmers. The market will be managed by local vegetable vendors, providing direct dignified employment to around 150 people. The market, one of its kinds will hopefully inspire others to create many more of such markets for our local street vendors, providing healthier vegetables for our urban dwellers and to create job-avenue and economic impact linking directly from rural to urban.

The programme was chaired by Kekhwengulo Lea, member, Board of Trustee, CPO.

Neiba Kronu, Minister, Planning and Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affiars, Nagaland unveiled the template of the market. In his speech, Kronu shared the importance of time management, emphasized on tourism and farming (locally available agriculture products) in order to attract more tourist. He said that any type of crops can be grown in the state following soil fertility with favourable climatic condition.

Considering the present road connectivity, the Minister is of the opinion that in few years time we can avail more opportunities in reaching the remote areas. He also stressed that “we should be a job provider instead of job seeker.”

MLA Chotisüh Sazo in his speech enlightened the members about past leaders contribution towards the Chakhesang community. MLA Kezhienyi Khalo also spoke on the occasion. Mikha Kenye, President, CPO delivered introductory address. Brief concept and report was presented by Theja Therieh Convenor, Board of Trsutee CPO and Neichute Doulo, Secretary, Board of Trustee CPO respectively.
