ZGC observes fresher’s day for 2nd semester students

Zunheboto, April 8 (MExN): The Zunheboto Government College (ZGC) observed its fresher's day for the 2nd semester students at the college auditorium on April 8.

The College informed that the fresher's day was observed this year as the College was closed in 2020 due to the pandemic-induced lockdown.

Bovi and Linoka were named Mr and Miss Fresher respectively.

The judges for the competition were Hulika Zhimo Assistant Professor, Lovikali Aye Assistant Professor and Kileto Chishi Assistant Professor.

Earlier, the programme began with an opening prayer by Pekiye and welcome address by Vitika T Aye ZGCEU President. A special number was presented by Hito Yeptho.

Principal ZGC K Nishena Nekha said that the generation now is dependent mostly on Information Technology and urged the students to make right use of the technology.

He also urged the students to work hard and compete with millions of students across the country in being the best of all.

The Principal encouraged the students to abide by the values of the Naga Society, stating that culture and tradition should not only be shown in outer appearance but from the heart.

Talking about COVID -19 safety in the College, Nekha insisted on wearing of face masks and using of hand sanitizers and disinfectants. While the College was facing challenges in social distancing due to lack of classrooms, small size of the classrooms and high number of students, the Principal said that  COVID-19 SOPs are being strictly followed. He further urged everyone to stay safe and follow all safety protocols.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Shekiye Chophy (AGS) while benediction was pronounced by Ilovili Shohe. The programme was chaired by Atilo Kinny and Hukato H.
