GHS Tening without mathematics teacher since July
Peren, October 12 (MExN): The Zeliang Students’ Union Nagaland visited the Government High School (GHS) and Zeliangrong Heraka School, Tening on October 11 and inspected the schools as well as interacted with the staff.
At GHS Tening, the school authority briefed the union on the working of the school including total enrollment of students as well as the strength of both teaching and non teaching staffs,a ZLSU release said.
Joseph Gangmei, the Headmaster of GHS Tening also highlighted lack of enough teaching staffs and emphasised on the urgent need of a mathematics teacher.
The post has been vacant since July 31, 2021 due to the retirement of the school’s lone math teacher, he informed as per the release,
After deliberation on the school’s grievances the union assured to give its full support to help meet the much needed grievances of the school, the release said.
The union further expressed its appreciation to the teachers for their earnest and dedicated work and encouraged them to continue to persevere towards the upliftment of the students, it added.
The ZLSU also visited Zeliangrong Heraka School Tening to check on the work progress of the construction of tribal boys’ hostel.
The union met the Assistant Headmistress and her colleagues to discuss matters on the development of the project.
During the same, Dr Pauzieleubo, the Vice President of ZLSU encouraged the school authority to carry out the work earnestly and in all honesty to maintain the good image and result of the school, the release said.
The Assistant Headmistress Talamsile Newmai highlighted about the project on how it remain still on standby without any developmental work done on the site of the project.
She further stated that any progress to check on the project was met with failure and urged the union to help on the matter and agreed to fully cooperate with the union in the following days in order to maintain transparency and provide justice to the society, it added.
The school board along with the executives of the union also visited the proposed site of the project to verify the ground reality and confirm that no work has been carried out.
Meanwhile, the union has asked all the officers of the respective departments within its jurisdiction to be station and provide service to the public earnestly.
“Surprise checking will be carried out in the future and defaulters will be dealt with accordingly,” stated the ZLSU’s release issued by its President Kingsalt Hegwang and General Secretary Sanlak Namdau.
