Zunheboto BLOs to begin house-to- house voter verification from Aug 16

Zunheboto, August 3 (MExN): Booth Level Officers (BLOs) across Zunheboto district will begin house-to-house verification of electors from August 16 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the Photo Electoral Rolls.

According to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Zunheboto, the exercise will involve the distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) from August 16 to September 14 in all polling station areas. Electors have been advised to keep passport-size photographs ready, as these are mandatory for the verification process.

The revision schedule provides for the claims and objections period from September 20 to October 20, during which eligible electors may seek corrections, inclusion or deletion of entries in the electoral rolls. The hearing and disposal of claims and objections will continue until November 18.

The district administration stated that electors facing mapping issues, anomalies or other discrepancies in the electoral rolls may be required to appear before the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) with the necessary supporting documents.

To ensure the successful implementation of the revision exercise, the district administration has sought the cooperation of Administrative Officers, Village Councils, Village Development Boards (VDB’s), Gaon Buras (GB’s), Colony Councils, ward authorities and the general public. Residents have also been urged to remain available during the house-to-house visits to facilitate timely verification.

DC & District Election Officer Dharam Raj, IAS, emphasised that the active participation and cooperation of all stakeholders will be crucial for the smooth and successful conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 in the district.
