Ex-gratia to victims’ families for losses

Zunheboto, August 10 (MExN): The monthly meeting of District Planning and Development Board Zunheboto was held on August 10 at DC’s conference hall, Zunheboto with Advisor for Tourism and Art & Culture and Chairman DPDB Zunheboto, Khehovi as the chairman.  

DIPR stated in a news report that the Board observed a minute of silence for the victims of natural calamities in Nagaland along with a prayer said by Rev. Hukugha, Executive Secretary SBAK Nito Mount.  

During the discussion, ADC Satakha requested for a regular doctor at PHC Satakha and also mentioned that Satoi under Satakha has been completely cut off by landslides and that NSDMA will airdrop essential commodities on August 10.   Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Shanavas C, IAS informed the members that the administration submitted a detailed report on the drowning of the five children at Aghunato to the government and that the state government will give ex-gratia to the victims’ families.  

CMO Zunheboto, Dr. CW Tungoe gave a PowerPoint presentation on the activities of the Medical department where he also highlighted the grievances of the department such as the need for a new CMO building at Zunheboto and complete electrical wiring of the District Hospital Zunheboto.  

Earlier, last month’s meeting was reviewed and finalizing of LADP 2018-19 was done. Upgradation of Town Council, Suruhuto from Ad-hoc Town Council was agreed to by the house. Proposal for upgradation of Satakha PHC to CHC was deliberated and approved for further process by the government.  

The chairman at the meeting informed that Tourism Day will be observed on September 27 under the theme ‘Tourism and Culture protection’. The meeting for the month of September will be held on September 10 where the department of PHE and DRDA will give PowerPoint presentation.
