Zunheboto, February 12 (MExN): The Zunheboto district DPDB meeting for the month of February 2021 was held at deputy commissioner's conference hall on February 11 under the chairmanship of vice chairman DPDB and DC Zunheboto, Peter Lichamo.
The meeting began with the introduction of new board members and review of the previous meeting minutes.
Speaking on the main agenda of the meeting, DPO (RCH & UIP) Dr M Nukshisangla Jamir briefed the board on the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination in the district.
She informed that so far, a total of 491 health care workers had been vaccinated out of the targeted 771 beneficiaries, which was 63.7%.
She added that, the second dose of vaccination for health care workers will be conducted be from February 16 to 22 at all session sites. She also said that, sensitization programmes on COVID-19 vaccine for departments like revenue, prison, police reserve and home guards and civil defence departments, which all falls under the frontline workers phase of vaccination were completed and programme on such is planned for 8th NAP batallion Hq on February 14.
The second phase of vaccination which began on February 10 at 32nd Assam rifles batallion achieved 88 out of 97 targeted beneficiaries which was 90.7%, the DPO informed.
100 beneficiaries from 111 BSF batallion at PHC Satakha were vaccinated on February 11 while employees at the office of the Superintendent of Police, home guards and civil defence and revenue staff will be vaccinated on February 15 and 16 respectively.
Dr Jamir also briefed about the recently concluded IPPI and Indra Dhanush schemes, as per a DIPR report.
CMO Zunheboto, Dr K Akaho Sema appealed the board to sensitize the need of being vaccinated to all the citizens in every possible way and not to believe in rumors on social media. He urged the members to trust the efficacy of the vaccine as the pandemic is far from over. He also informed that there was not a single significant side effect from the vaccine so far, in the district.
The board meeting also deliberated on the ongoing state and central projects under PWD, Agri and allied departments, NST bus services connecting Zunheboto and Mokokchung districts and Zunheboto and state capital Kohima.
